A TOD should aim for diversification of options, enhancing value through the collocation of diversity. A TOD that merely replicates the options of a strip center is giving us another strip center. So far development has not really explored the potential for reconfiguration for mode enhancement. No one really seems to be exploring the latent potential for generating diversity within a TOD, maybe because of the jack-of-all-trades straight-jacket. What would grocery stores that really catered to cyclists look like, for example? What services and products might these grocery stores provide instead of the usual? What would you collocate with them?</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5213212286181476541/3453018770089754635/comments/default/5144792641379783315'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5213212286181476541/3453018770089754635/comments/default/5144792641379783315'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.reinventingtransport.org/2010/08/useful-analogy-your-car-as-jack-of-all.html?showComment=1280926753673#c5144792641379783315' title=''/><author><name>Eric O</name><uri>http://properscale.blogspot.com</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img1.blogblog.com/img/blank.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.reinventingtransport.org/2010/08/useful-analogy-your-car-as-jack-of-all.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5213212286181476541.post-3453018770089754635' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/5213212286181476541/posts/default/3453018770089754635' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1218673160'/></entry></feed>
